I’m not talking about the typical, ring-light-wielding Instagram model.
I mean “influencer” in the sense that you become known for something that, really, only you can offer. And we've all got something unique to offer: ourselves.
I see it with Jeff Goldblum.
You know why he’s famous? Besides the talent—of which he has tank-loads—it’s because he’s himself. Just watch him in any interview he’s had with Conan. Jeff Goldblum is Jeff Golblum. I doubt anyone will argue with me on that.
No one can beat him for being him.
Neither can anyone beat you at being you. In marketing terms, you’ve got no competition. Your voice differs from mine or the next person's because you have your own mix of interests, favorite phrases, and perspectives. So use it.
